Ceramics 2015-2016

My definition of art is a product created from ones voice and creativity. Art is important because it represents the artist's voice. My goal is to convey my own personal voice in my work, because I want each of my pieces to show who I am in some way. My voice consists of my own style, my own opinions, and my own attitudes. I create art because it allows me to show my voice in an imaginative way.

The process that makes up my unique compositions consists of distinct steps and techniques. I will use ceramics as an example since that is what my focus has been recently. In ceramics, my first step is to plan how I will indicate my voice. I consider the theme or message that I want to get across. I then use a variety of materials, but my style remains consistent. In every piece of mine, it is clear that I have my own style of precise designs.

The environment inspires my art because I am able to connect my life with it. My surroundings provide me with ideas in my art. This year, I have grown as in artist in this way. I connected art to my real life and my real voice. I actually had a reason within all of my pieces, rather than randomly creating things just because. As in artist, my place in this world is to express myself in my art and show my creativity in my own way.

Overcrowding at art museums can be good for financial purposes, however it leads to some problems. The amount of people that visit a museum make it easy for accidents to happen. Plus, people feel uncomfortable in crowded environments making their art experience less enjoyable. The reason that there shouldn't be a limit on how many people visit the museums is because it helps them to prosper financially. Personally, I feel that there should be a limit. No one likes spending their day in busy, chaotic areas especially when they're trying to enjoy the art work. It kind of takes the fun out of the day and not only that, it would limit accidents involving the art.
