Art is a great way to express one's creativity. Personally, I feel that I represent myself strongly in my art work. Incorporating your voice in your work helps define the work as yours. Banksy is an artist that does a good job of including their voice and is one that really inspires me. His work displays his beliefs, and voice, by getting messages across to the public. If he wants change, he will show that in his art.
While I work on certain projects I try my best to have clean and neat pieces. I begin my piece by planning out the entire project on paper or digitally. I draw out a rough idea of what I may want it to look like, and I make a mental note of what my hidden meanings are. All of my work has hidden meanings, whether it be something as small as a favorite color used or as large as an object representing part of my life. The materials I use depend on what meanings my piece include or the themes that I try to get across.
This year I have taken both 2D and 3D Art. I can honestly say that my skills do not fall under the drawing category and 3D Art is a better fit for me. Because I have noticed that this year, I have decided to continue my 3D Art journey as a sophomore. I really enjoyed working with clay, so I am going to take ceramics. My strengths include making my work really clean and neat. Detail is definitely a weakness of mine and my goal is to improve on that as I continue art. Overall, this year I have grown as an artist because I was able to realize what I enjoy doing and I was greatly influenced by many. Learning about various artists in Mrs. Hahn's class allowed me to get a different perspective of the different types of art. My classmates also give me inspiration because they have their own creative ideas that I can expand on.
Below are a few of my favorite pieces I created in 3D Art.
